YA CINA

I just don't get it when people said I don't look my age. Do I look that young?
Scenario no. 1
I went to the bank to change my card.
Lady at the counter: "Sorry, this card is for 21 years and above only."
Me: "Umm, I'm 22. In fact, I'm turning 23 this November."
Lady at the counter: "Oh really? Gosh, I thought you were 17."
Scenario no. 2
My cousin, little brother, his friends & I were hanging out one fine day. This wasn't the first time we hang out. It's been a couple of times I hung out with those 16 year olds. Heh. Then we were talking about ages and stuff which I revealed my age.
My little brother's friend, Afiq: "HUH?! Kau 22 tahun?! Aku pikir kau lagi muda dari Rizal." (Rizal was 19 then.)
Me: "Tak la. Aku lagi tua dari dia. This year 23 k."
Afiq: "Aku adelah pikir kau 18 ke. Wah, da nak masok 23 eh. Da bleh kahwin. Haha."
Scenario no. 3
I went out with my little brother to spend some quality time together. So called bonding. HAH! Bumped into a couple of his friends who thinks I'm his girlfriend. Sheessshh!
His friend: "Dzul, cam semalam?" (His friends call him Dzul, family calls him Don.)
Little brother, Don: "Semalam? Ape yang amacam?"
His friend: "Eleh step tak tahu plak. Kau keluar ngan gf kau pe semalam."
Don: "Sial ah gf! Tu kakak aku la sial."
His friend: "Oh kakak kau eh? Ade bf?"
Don: "Eh sial ahh. Dia 23 tahun la sak. DA TUA!"
His friend: "Ehh?? 23 tahun? Alamak damn!"
Scenario no. 4
The other day at the interview, there's this chinese guy, Phillip, who sat beside me. He was called down for an interview as well. He introduced himself and we talked. I asked him his age and I told him mine.
Me: "Same here. 23. 1985 right?"
Phillip: *looks surprised* "Oh really? I couldn't tell. You look between 18-20 years old. Didn't thought you were 23."
So conclusion, I guess I do look younger than my age? I think it's because I hang out with younger people a lot rather than people my age. Oh and not stressing yourself, be happy and laughter helps. :)
There's also a couple of incidents where people mistook me for being Chinese.
Like at my former workplace where 2 of my superior thought I was Chinese, that person who gave me a leaflet that was typed out in mandarin, those shop keepers and taxi drivers who spoke to me in mandarin and one of my manager who looked at me said, "You look very Chinese."
But the BEST was when I was walking pass this particular shop that sells sliced barbecue pork and one of their sales assistant was giving out free samples to people. And when I passed by, she offered some to me! Like oh my godddddddddddddddddddddd! BABI!
One of our crazy friends said that if Sakina, Ina & I ever be a minah rep, our name would be Baby Kin (Sakina), Nina Sky (Ina) and I would be called YA CINA. *faints* Whaaaaaaaaatttt? HAHAHA!!
So anyways, I went to Tampines Mall on Monday with Ina, Shasha, Shakilla and Don. Ina & I bought a pint of ice-cream each. Ice-cream soothes everything, don't you think?
Went to Tampines Mall again yesterday with Ina & Shakilla. Like yeah, again. So fun. Pfffft.
While we were walking outside Cheers opposite Tampines Mall heading for home, we saw two Cisco officers. They were like on duty carrying bags of money I think. And they were smiling at us like we know them. Then they waved at us and smiling like nobody's business. WHAT IS UP WITH CISCO GUYS ANYWAYS?!

Okay, I got to go and get ready now. Meeting Ina & Fiza in 2 hours time. I have a feeling I'm goin to be late - again. What's new? Heh.
love,
nadia.
