LIP GLOSS
The other day while Ina was busy shopping for Bobbi Brown, Sakina & I were busy testing their products. And we fell in love almost instantly with their lip gloss. I tried it on first and totally felt the different with all the other lip gloss I had worn before. So I put some on Sakina and she loved it and then I put it on Ina and she loved it. Sooooo the three of us are gonna get Bobbi Brown's lip gloss! Yaye! We are soooooo gonna look great during Raya. HAHA. Anyways, today I met up with Iris. (after a year!) My beautiful colleague from my previous workplace. It's been a while since we sat down and just catch up. So today we did. And she told me she just broke up with her boyfriend of a year about a month ago. I really pity her. I can say she's been through a lot. But she very pretty leh! A beautiful girl like her has guy problems then what about us?! What do guys want anyways?!?!
Let me share her story with you beautiful people.
We worked together previously. That time, both of us were new so we clicked instantly. We became close very quickly and I was known as her "girlfriend" at work. Everyone called us lesbians. Haha. She had a boyfriend then. Let's call him Guy A. She has been going out with Guy A for 3 years. They met in school. And he wooed her and eventually won her over. They were happy till he became "different" and she found out he has been seeing another girl behind her back. They broke up. She was very sad and she would be in a daze sometimes.
Then some time later, she met a guy, Guy B, at this temple that she always go to for her prayers. Guy B seems nice. Wooed her and they went out on a couple of dates. And he told her that he liked her. Everything was fantastic. I could see a smile on her face again. Till a third party came. Her own temple buddy, Girl C. One day, she overheard Guy B saying to Girl C that he was actually interested in Girl C. Not my friend. Iris was heartbroken. When she came to the office and told me, her eyes were filled with tears. Then at night, she randomly text messaged me "Nadia, my heart aches. See you tomorrow." I could have sworn I felt for her.
Few months later, a new guy joined the company. Guy D. Guy D was sweet and decent-looking. They became close. But Iris has had enough and told him she doesn't want anymore heartache. But Guy D was confident he wasn't the same like all those guys. He went on to woo her for 5 months and she gave her heart to him. He promised her he wouldn't hurt her and he would make her happy. They were happy for a year and then he became "different". He turned out to be just like all those guys. He flirted endlessly with all those new girls till someone came up to Iris and said "Are you Guy D's girlfriend or her?" They broke up a month ago. Iris was depressed for a while. Like she was really heartbroken.
Today she told me,
"Nadia, now I can really say all guys are the same. I don't want anymore heartache. You know, a year ago we were talking about guys being idiots, a year later they are still idiots. I don't wanna date anymore. But I don't wanna be an old maid! Haiyah, I don't know lah. I give up. If my heart breaks one more time, I'll die."
And then she giggled. Well, at least she still has a smile on her face. You'll survive babe, don't worry.
